If you’re still not familiar with PFAS, the forever chemicals, then it’s probably time you take a moment to educate yourself.
This is my third article on this topic because of just how important it is.
Until recently, the average person was fairly uneducated on the topic of environmental toxins and all the dangers they present to our health, but as more and more people are confronting the cold, hard fact that our world is run by interests who care more about profit than the health of the human race, folks are waking up en masse.
Our bodies—especially our livers—are under attack by thousands of toxic chemicals, but most of us don’t even know where our livers are located, let alone how to take care of them. Education about toxins like PFAS is essential, as is putting pressure on governments to tighten regulations on them.
Recently, the nonprofit watchdog group Consumer Reports released this Demand Safe Water Petition, which I highly recommend you sign right now.
Seriously, I don’t even care if you read the rest of this article. Just sign it now. It’s that important.
Here’s what they have to say:
“Consumer Reports’ members helped test drinking water throughout the country, and the results are disturbing: Nearly every sample had measurable levels of PFAS, a group of compounds known as ‘forever chemicals’ because they don’t break down easily in the body or the environment. Despite mounting evidence of widespread PFAS contamination and potential health risks…the EPA has failed to set an enforceable standard for PFAS in our water.”
Found in nonstick products, cleaning products, clothing, drinking water, meat, and many other common items, PFAS are particularly nasty, but they’re just the tip of the proverbial iceberg.
BPA, Atrazine, Glyphosate, and countless other chemical compounds are increasingly pervasive in our environment and can have profound effects on our mitochondria, immunity, reproductive health, and ability to maintain a healthy mood.
I’ve written extensively about PFAS in my article “PFAS: the Forever Chemicals” and also more recently in an article where I commented on internationally acclaimed activist Erin Brockovich’s recent article on how PFAS and other human-made compounds are contributing to the fertility epidemic by lowering sperm counts and causing all manner of health problems all over the world.
There’s a toxicity epidemic afoot, and understanding how to support natural detoxification is absolutely essential if you want to maintain your vitality during this bizarre time in human evolution.
Hydration, nutrition, and proper supplementation are crucial, but you also want to arm yourself with the knowledge of how to avoid exposure in the first place.
If you’d like to learn more about various environmental toxins, how they’re toying with our hormones, and how to avoid them, you can also read my article “Hormones Under Fire: Worse Living Through Chemistry”.
Finally, if you’re in more of a watching mood versus a reading mood, you can learn everything there is to know about PFAS by watching “the Devil We Know” on YouTube, available in its entirety for free.
But please, no matter what you do, take 30 seconds to sign the petition before you do anything else, and share it with your friends and family so we can hopefully get these poisons regulated and out of our bodies.
